Accomplishments PROJECT LEAD For installation of fiber optic OC-12 equipment and related multiplex, to move AltaLink's control center to their new office. PROJECT LEAD For design on $2 million southern Alberta microwave upgrade project. Scope included upgrade on multiplex equipment and microwave radio from analog 2GHz to digital 7GHz at six sites. Project was on time and on budget. PROJECT LEAD For the design and implementation of adding SCADA to seven new sites using cellular data. Project team included contractors, design and field staff. This $300,000 project was on time and under budget. PROJECT LEAD For replacement of RTU and UHF radios at four substations for $240,000. Scope included project estimation and coordination of diversified groups working at eight geographically separate sites. PROJECT LEAD For the design and implemenation of adding mobile repeaters to a client's network. Scope included coverage studies and site selection, resulting in a greatly improved, mobile coverage area for the client. PROJECT COORDINATION For all point-to-point microwave path designs and overall backbone design for TeraGo's 30-site wireless Ethernet network in eight markets across Canada. Did the multi-point coverage design for half of the markets. Entire build-out was accomplished in less than six months. PROJECT COORDINATION For all Industry Canada Point-to-Point licensing and new build designs for ClearNet's Alberta microwave network. PROJECT COORDINATION For the installation of third-party telecommunication facilities on TransAlta towers. PROJECT COORDINATION For the design addition of a Human Machine Interface (HMI) and upgraded RTU. RISK ASSESSMENT Completed a reliability and risk assessment of TransAlta's telecommunication facilities in Western Australia. STANDARDS Wrote technical standards for client use when tendering projects, to ensure consistency from contractors. STANDARDS Participated on an Engineering Practices team to create procedures to ensure a company was in adherence with the Engineering Professions Act. Proposals were accepted by management and were instituted as company policy. PROJECTS IN GENERAL Planned, estimated, and implemented numerous SCADA and telecommunication projects in the range of $50,000 to $150,000.
